"Yeah, I haven't but Kili is a big fan, especially if she's.. You know.." She waves her hand before her face in a gesture intended to convey someone's out of it. The server arrives and Nissa orders the All star platter for Geno, and 2 waffles with a side of eggs and bacon for herself. "I've never really had it myself, but I've only heard good things from others. So I thought it was high time to try it out. This was just the perfect excuse."

In a tree outside the window, a crow sits, watching the table attentively.

He seems to relax in response. “Girl after my own heart then. All right. You said you haven’t been here before, right? I mean, the name should imply it, but their breakfast food slaps.”

"I know what I'm asking, I don't mind. Remember, you're dining with an adventurer! I made a lot of money before I got here!" She might have secretly left some of her money with Frédo, so she has less than she had before, but she still has plenty. The All Star platter looks delicious, but that amount of food is taller than she is if you'd stack everything. That's an impressive amount of food. "Ohh that does look good. Damn.. I wish I could eat that much food.. I was just going to go for some waffles, but now I really want bacon and eggs too." She humms a little as she thinks. "I think I'll do that.. I can always order more waffles if I want more."

At that question, he looks a bit sheepish. “That’s a dangerous question,” he chuckles. “It probably shouldn’t come as a surprise that a guy my size eats, uh, a lot. But I’m not gonna make you pay for my whole meal. Waffles only. That was the deal.” “I’m probably going to get the All Star platter though.” He points to a picture on the menu of several plates piled with eggs, hash browns, bacon, toast, and of course waffles.

Once she's sent the message she puts her phone away. "I'll just share it with Kili now, maybe I'll put it on Twatter later. Can't have i t lead back to me though. Need to be smart about that one." She taps her forehead, indicating that she needs to use her head. "So, what would you like to eat?"

"Oh, invisibility is great for pranks! I love it." When her phone pings she immediately grabs it and starts typing out a quick message.

“Yeah, yeah, I’ll send it to you,” he agrees through giggles of his own. He slides his phone back across the table and starts tapping on it with his thumbs. “He didn’t see a thing. Don’t worry. I know I don’t look the type, but I’ve taken some intro magic classes. There was a self-defense one my freshman year, and I learned to cast invisibility. Don’t get to use it often, but when I do, it really pays off.” Nissa’s phone pings, and he smiles. “There you go. Yours to share with the world.”

"Oh, the Gate, like Baldur's Gate? I've heard that name before." The cities in that world have some really weird names, but whatever.. If that place is named after some actual really deep water, it's highly unlikely that Nissa will go there. Maybe it's even in deep water? Eww, definitely not going there. She perks up when he slide his phone back towards Nissa. She looks at the screen with glee, biting her lip softly to contain the smile on her face and keep from laughing prematurely, she doesn't want to miss a single second of what is happening. She wheezes when the Dickhead(tm) manages to walk into the doorframe and spews curses which are muffles slightly by Geno's muffled laughter. "HA! Oh, that's good. You found the perfect angle.. That's amazing. Thank you. Can you send that to me, so I can share it with Kili? She'd love it too." And she can use some cheering up. "You didn't get in trouble right? He didn't see you, or thought you had anything to do with it?"

“Naw, I’m from the Gate,” he replies, turning his phone back around to scroll some more. “A few of the bros are though. It’s a real big city, so I wouldn’t be surprised to find a lot of people from there.” “Ah! Here it is! You ready for this?” he asks with a grin. Geno turns his phone around again, rapidly pushing the volume button so Nissa can hear. How Geno managed to hide himself is unclear, but he found a perfect vantage point in the hallway to watch as Elnaril opened the door to his room. He’s halfway into the room when the light actually hits him, and the viewer can hear him shout in confusion. The elf throws his hands up as he turns away from the light, slamming face first into the doorframe as he tries to flee blindly. The video cuts there as the camera starts to shake from Geno’s muffled snickers.

Nissa shrugs. "I've travelled with tall people for as long as I've been adventuring. I've gotten used to it. My friend Ian is probably over 6 ft tall, all muscle, and then he can grow even taller and get actual giant tall." She looks at the picture and makes the 'that's adorable' ahh sound. "There are a lot of kissy-kissy people around campus, so I can see why you'd be super busy. Your cake is very good! Kili and I really enjoyed the one we had." Not stolen, definitely not stolen. "Are you from Waterdeep? I've never heard of it."

His smile spreads wider as he feels the tap on his knee, dimples appearing in his cheeks. “Well good. I appreciate you thinking of me. I know you’ve got a hard time with big spaces, but I got a hard time with small ones. Gotta find that middle ground.” He pulls out his phone to search for the video. “It’s a holiday in Waterdeep,” he explains as he scrolls, “But it kinda spread everywhere because it’s a romantic day. Everyone loves a chance to be all kissy kissy.” He chuckles again and flips his phone around to show her a picture. “So we get lots of people asking for shit like this for their guys, gals, and enby pals. I don’t mind doing it, but boy, is it busy.”

"Pff, I don't know, do I?" She laughs, swingung her leg up a little higher to softly kick his knee. "Yep, just enough room. Trust me, you wouldn't have enjoyed it if I'd picked a small table. You'd have your knees up your nose. I've spent enough time now with long-legged to know that much. And you're totally right to keep that video until I kept up my end! What's the celebration you're baking for? I don't think I know what that is."

“It’s cool, it’s cool.” He slides into the booth with a sigh, squeezing his bulk between the bench and the table. “Got enough room under there?” he jokes, looking down to where Nissa’s feet swing above the ground while his sweatpant-clad legs crowd the table support. “I’ve been meaning to send you that video, by the way, but I keep forgetting. Lotta folks want cakes and shit for the Grand Revel or whatever, so it keeps me busy. But do you wanna see?”

Nissa's head shoots up when she hears the familiar voice. She returns his grin, her legs still kicking back and forth. "Hey! Thank you for coming. Or, I don't know, maybe that's a weird thing to say, but I mean, sorry it took so long and thanks for still wanting to come. Since Kili and I haven't been reprimanded yet, it seems like you kept your word. Sorry it took me so long to keep mine." Kili gave them the cookies a while back. The waffles just took a little longer. She grabs a menu that she's been looking at for a bit. "I know I said waffles were my treat, but if you want something else, that's okay too."

Geno arrives a minute or two before the time that Nissa proposed for their Not-a-Date. A few of his bros teased him, saying that it’s cooler to show up a few minutes late; but he thinks of it like a cake. He’d rather be at the oven before the timer rang. Worst case he’ll have a few minutes to kill. If he’s too late, well, no one wants to get burned. He pulls his beanie off when he enters ruffling up his curls that got smooshed during the walk here while he looks around. When he spots Nissa, he grins. Date or no, he likes her. She’s funny. And hey, who can fault a college kid for passing up the opportunity for an off-campus meal? “Hey!” he calls as he approaches their booth.

A ginger cat sits on the sidewalk outside of the restaurant, grooming one paw with its tongue. Nothing odd or suspicious about a stray cat on the street.

After a long wait, it's finally time for Nissa to pay up for the promise she made. After her talk with Frédo, she thinks she's ready now. Is she really? Stay tuned to find out, I guess. But she's really kept Geno waiting long enough, and just to be sure, she'd asked Rue to just stop by. Just to give her an out if she needs one. Because she things she might need one. And Rue needs to actually do something other than lying in bed wallowing. If Nissa were to pester Kili, she might get punched, and Rue's not going to hit as hard as Kili, so the druid is an easier target. Anyway, Nissa is here, sitting on a couch, swinging her tiny legs back and forth while she waits for Geno to show up. This might just be Nissa's first date. If it turns out to be a date. It's just payment for not telling The Dickhead (tm) about the prank for now.

"Thanks for the waffles, Meadhbh." She scratched the back of her head. Somehow it felt like people normally said more to their friends when bidding their farewells. Gods, Aronova was bad at all this talking stuff. "Hrm... See you? Good luck with your friends? Hope you find some nice company." Despite the questioning tone, she eventually turned around and left with Palu's paws tip tapping behind her. Her own tail was wagging just slightly as she gave one last wave to the satyr. And off she was, back to the forest. She would likely be seen at Waffle Hut more often from now on.

Meadhbh pats herself down. “Nope!! I got everything!” She smiles up at her, fluffy tail wagging behind her. “Thank you Aronova!”

There were a few times where Aronova felt as if Meadhbh didn't actually know where she lived, navigating around in circles. But maybe she just wanted to enjoy the view of the forest. Or whatever amount of company the barbarian had to offer. "There we are." Her foot easily opened the main door to the dormitories, only slightly squishing Meadhbh against her. A few more stairs later, they arrived at her room and Aronova set her back down to her hooves. "Got everything?" If this girl forgot her keys or wallet at Waffle Hut, this would be a very annoying trip back.

Palu happily purred from Meadhbh's pets, only slightly growling like a dinosaur each time. "Grrrwp. Mew." ||Bacon. Cuddles. Happy.||

Meadhbh let’s out a little gasp as she’s swept up. “Okay!” She says confidently, completely forgetting how absolutely lost she has gotten in the woods earlier that day. Holding Palu in her lap, petting him occasionally; she rests her head on Aronova’s warm body, being careful not to poke the girl with her antlers. And she is carried back to campus, only getting a little lost in the woods on the journey back. Holy shit! She was sooooo gonna tell Mim about this!

The tall barbarian stood up, straight posture like a soldier as she approached Meadhbh. And as if the satyr weighed nothing at all, she moved one hand under her back and one below her knee, lifting her easily into a princess-style carry. "Just guide me to your dorm." For no reason at all, she gave a short glare to the man with a bag on his head and walked out of Waffle Hut. Her body radiated an almost pleasant warmth in this cold season. Snow flakes settled in her white hair with Palu occasionally trying to catch one with his paws. Unsuccessfully, of course.

Even through her mega weed brain, Meadhbh gets absolutely flustered at the thought of a big beautiful woman like Aronova carrying her through the snow back to her room and kicking her door in to deposit her there. She hides her face behind her hands and giggles “Well… I’m not going to say no to that!” She hops up out of the booth, still holding Palu in her arms and stands there expectantly, waiting to be swept off her hooves.

After all these years, Palu had finally proven that he was good at something. This was an even greater miracle than the waffles. "Will someone fight us if we stay?" A quick glance around the room, counting every person and assessing their strength. She could totally take them all in a brawl. But maybe she shouldn't scare off the only kind-of-sort-of friend she ever made. "Fine. Let's go. I'll carry you."

”Awwwww cat!“ Meadhbh is not immune to a cute little creature, #justdruidthings. She picks him up and holds him next to her face, then nuzzles and purrs back “Oh! He’s so precious!” Her bloodshot big brown doe eyes [Say that three times fast] widen again as she looks at Palu. Causing her to absolutely zone in on him and completely forget what she was sulking about moments prior. “We should leave though.”

Aronova just... sat there. She wasn't even sure if Meadhbh had fun eating waffles at this point, but the antisocial barbarian was hardly the right person to cheer someone up. She looked at Palu. He returned her gaze with no thoughts behind his eyes. And without hesitation, she grabbed the poor cat by its neck and placed him Meadhbh's lap. He nuzzled against her belly and purred. Aronova was watching her reaction expectantly. Palu must be good at *something*, right? This was his moment.

She crosses her arms. It was true, she did have friends and she enjoyed hanging out with them. But today she had given the spontaneous urge to just walk out of her room and go get waffles. “Well I was going to come by myself, but then I got lost in the woods and found you again so I figured this would be more fun.” She shrugs “Anyways, everything is paid for if you want to leave.” And she wouldn’t blame Aronova if she did leave…

Aronova paused at that comment. She watched Meadhbh's expression change, almost as if she was about to cry. She grumbled to herself. The tiefling hated having normal emotions such as empathy, it always fucking sucked. Why couldn't she just get up and leave with no regrets like that dumb tattoo over a fluffy ass? "Couldn't you do better than some devilspawn in the forest?" She looked Meadhbh over, finishing her own drink. "You're cute, nice and all that shit. Probably have friends, too. Those nerds at your school would be missing out by not hanging out with you. So I dunno why you're wasting time with me when you could be around people you like." Aronova was really bad at this. But at least she was trying?

”Yes, I’m still gonna pay for it.” She slowly counts out her gold and puts it on the little dish to pay “I just wanted some company…” She shrugs. Don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t cry. No regrets! Remember?! Meadhbh swallows her emotions and chases them with a mug of now lukewarm hot chocolate and the rest of her iced tea

Aronova continued her waffle frenzy until she was too full to continue. Both her and Palu looked quite satisfied, their tails doing the same calm swaying motion behind them. Perhaps her weird feline son wasn't that different from her. "You're still paying, right?" She looked at Meadhbh, leaning forward a little as she placed her hand on her fist. This get together was surprisingly nice. Much better than almost any company Aronova had kept previously. Even if she had no idea what was so funny to the satyr. Hm. Should she feel guilty for making her pay for all this food? "Hey. Why did you take me here and pay for all this? Don't you want something in return?"

Meadhbh gasps as Aronova steals waffles from the other table. But she can’t stop laughing. “Okay! Okay! I’ll get you more!” Through her laughter she orders five more waffles, as well as a plate of sausage links for Palu. Then she sinks back into the booth and goes for her hash-browns

"YES. MORE WAFFLES." Her tone was far too intense now, holding up every waffle like a religious artifact found in an unknown dungeon, only to messily devour them one by one. Hopefully no one would ever ask this woman to eat a peach in a safe for work thread. Whatever that meant. "Hey, you!" Aronova turned around to face the table behind her. Some guy with a paper bag on his head and a man that looked like he got hit by a car a while ago were dining together. She reached out her hands. "Give me that." Clearly intimidated by this huge tiefling ~~and maybe kind of into it~~, the paper bag guy gave her their waffles. She sat back down and continued eating, leaving only a single waffle to Palu.

Meadhbh can’t help but smile as Aronova has a seemingly religious experience trying waffles for the first time. “If you like them I can get you more!” She giggles. If she wasn’t so zooted, watching Aronova messily es the waffles may have awakened something in her… But instead she just sits back and giggles as her lids hang heavy over her eyes again

Aronova lifted Palu back to his high chair and he decided to lick the bacon plate. "That's it? That's a waffle?" She scoffed at the pathetically unremarkable sight of breakfast food. They named a whole house after this and it wasn't even tall like a burger? Surely it couldn't be that special. She took the waffle into her hands, covering her fingers with butter and syrup in the process. She took a large bite of it... A single ray of light shone through the window, casting a halo on this magical feast called waffle. Sweet sugary goodness melting on the barbarian's tongue, her pale blue eyes glimmering like snowflakes on a sunny winter's day. There was almost something akin to a smile on her lips. Almost. "What the FUCK!" Aronova kept eating the waffles as if it was her last meal on earth. This time she spoke with her mouth full, pointing at Meadhbh's plate. "Do you still want that?"

Palu was sniffing Meadhbh's food, his tail raised behind him curiously. Maybe he would like waffles?

”Oh! My name is Meadhbh!” She smiles and wags her fluffy little tail. “Oh right! The waffles!” She plops back down into her seat. “Better eat them before they get cold!” She goes to start eating her smorgasbord of breakfast food “Anyways I can either try to have the cat food put under your name or I can bring it to you! Up to you! I just want to help your cat eat more than garbage.” She looks over at Palu with her big brown eyes again

It probably wouldn't be too difficult to run into Aronova in the woods. She was always picking up random students these days. Which either meant spellcasters were really bad at surviving or they had a 6th sense for bothering tiefling women living in the forest. "I'm Aronova." She didn't even flinch at the sudden hand slam, but she immediately lifted her drink to stop it from spilling over. Taking a sip, it tasted kind of like too much sugar and chemicals. So really, not that bad. "And you, no-regrets?"

”I don’t work at the veterinary office but I am a Witherbloom med student. I could probably just go get it for you…. And then hope to the gods I happen to run into you in the woods again….” She taps her finger to her chin as she thinks “Or maybe I could say it’s mine but someone else is picking it up…. And but down your- OH GODS I DONT KNOW YOUR NAME!” She slams her hands down on the table and leans across it, kneeling on the booth seat. “What is your name?”

"Canned food? For cats?" She barely even knew food came in cans, but she had seen it for humans once or twice. "I don't go to your school, don't think they'd hand me freebies. Didn't get any from the big man that cooks either. Dirk. Birk. Gurg...?" At least Aronova knew Witherbloom was part of Strixhaven. A bunch of people she rescued from the forest were yapping on and on about their school stuff. Good on Meadhbh's friend for having more than two boyfriends, too. Hopefully that would keep them from running off into forest and passing out in the middle of winter.

After finishing his meal, he hopped on the table and pushed his head against Meadhbh's hand with another loud purr. He may or may not be stepping into her food while doing so. "Mrrm?" ||New mama?||

Meadhbh keeps her eyes on the cat. “Why don’t you get him canned food?” She asks, completely forgetting that she yanked this girl out if the wilderness and brought her to waffle hut of all places “I’m sure if you went to the vet office at Witherbloom they would give you some. Two of my friends’ boyfriends work there, I could let them know for you.”

Aronova was starting to wolf down her own food as if she hadn't eaten in a while. She didn't even remember what she ordered, but this was probably the food from the pictures. Maybe. And the word photosynthesis was too much for her brain to handle when she could be eating more. Awful table manners aside, she at least tried to not answer with her mouth full. "He climbs into trashcans on his own. Sucks at hunting, so I always end up giving him part of my food." She pointed at him with one hand, taking a large bite of her burger with the other. "And then he makes noises like that while cuddling up to me. It's kinda cute."

Palu's pupils dilated at the sight of bacon and he placed one weirdly scaly paw on it, drawing the plate towards himself. A single bite of bacon and this was already the best day of his life. He purred loudly while chewing.

”I hate winter! But I’ve been in my room for too long.” She laments “Oh she doesn’t eat, she photosynthesizes… TRASH?! Why would you feed this sweet little guy trash?!” She looks with her big brown doe eyes at the poor little strange cat before slowly pushes her plate of bacon towards him and giving him a little nod

"I dunno, seems like a shit season to leave your room." She would ask if Meadhbh felt cold with her ass out like that, but she had fur. Must be annoying in summer, though. "What does she eat? Palu eats trash, but he can't knock a tree over. Might have to change his diet."

”Hehe yeah! I like waffles. Usually I order them in, but I’ve been trying to leave my room.” She takes a big long sip from her iced tea, drinking nearly half the glass. “Oh! Crystal Methany?! She’s in my room. Shit! I meant to bring her! Oops.” She giggles and shrugs

That was awfully nice of the satyr. Suspiciously nice. Aronova looked at her for an awkward amount of time, trying to figure out if she had ulterior motives. The only thing she noticed was that Meadhbh's eyes were really red. "So... Do you eat these waffle things often?" A quick look behind Meadhbh later, she added another question. "Where is your destruction dinosaur?"

She sat down across from Meadhbh, lifting Palu onto the seat next to her. The menu had too many words written on it and Aronova's eyes narrowed when she tried to read them. Seriously, what the fuck was a waffle? Was this house made of waffle? Wasn't there a tale of a witch in the woods with a house made out of food? For a while, she just stared at the menu. Her tail thumped against the chair with agitation. When the waiter came along, Aronova simply decided to point at a bunch of pictures and order everything. Meat, eggs, more meat, weird bready looking stuff, some kind of cake, a big colorful drink... Fortunately she wasn't paying, considering these two ordered half the damn menu. At some point she made Palu put his paw on the menu to order his own food as well. Apparently he wanted a salad. Good for him.

Finally entering the Waffle Hut, Meadhbh pulls the girl over to a booth by the windows and hands her a menu. “Get whatever you want! I got it covered.” For herself she orders waffles… and hashbrowns… and eggs… and bacon… and toast… and fries…. And a muffin… and hot chocolate…n some iced tea. That was enough right?

Palu followed the two, occasionally trying to jump and catch Meadhbh's tail. Of course, he kept massively failing at reaching it, but at least he looked adorable frolicking through the snow.

Date. That was a food, too. Aronova's stomach was growling loudly at the thought of a free meal. "Sounds good. Don't think I had a waffle before. Doesn't grow on trees, does it?" She let herself get dragged away by this short fluffy girl. Would she ever care about asking for her name? Probably not. But the barbarian was looking at her small wagging tail while walking, only distracted by the words "No regrets" right above it.

”Omg are we about to go on a waffle date!” Meadhbh pulls herself up out of the snow. Her little fluffy tail wagging excitedly “I’d take you to waffle hut! For sure!” Shes totally not drooling because of this woman. “It’s a breakfast food! Have you never had a waffle??” First Hoshi never had pizza and now this girl never had a waffle. Some people really grew up under a rock. “Let’s go! Let’s go!” She grabs Aronova by the arm. Mmmmm muscles…

Maybe praying to the gods was helping the fluffy girl, she seemed to be doing better. Aronova stood up, gave a quick pet to Palu and started putting on her armor. "I'm hungry, too. Do you have money?" She didn't expect to get invited, but how could she not take the opportunity for free food? Her mind was entirely focused on food now, not caring at all about how much of a show she was giving to Meadhbh. All the ridges of her spine came into view when she turned her back, including large wing-like protrusions on her shoulder blades. White body hair, matching her unkept curls. And of course, well-defined muscles. Finally dressed, she turned around. "What the fuck is a waffle anyway...?"

Palu stared at the two women jealously. Why was his mother petting another creature? He let out a whiny meow.

The hamster wheel in Aronova's brain was turning, trying to figure out what was happening. Fluffy girl ate too much food and now she's stupid? Wait, was that why Aronova had problems reading and doing smart people shit, too? Damn, she was getting hungry now. "So you'd regret shit if you didn't have it written on your ass?" She rubbed over the tattoo a few times. Body mods were awesome, the barbarian should get one, too. Maybe a tattoo saying *don't talk to me or my cat ever*. "What???" She looked at Meadhbh's eyes after hearing the compliment. "Okay, I get it now. That must be why you have regrets."

”Hehe, nooooo I just ate three whole edibles!” She laughs as she rolls over to look at the girl again. “Yeah dude! No regrets! Im not allowed to regret anymore so I got it so every time I look at my ass in the mirror I’d remember.” It sounds even stupider when she says it out loud. “You’re really pretty.” She has no filter.

Aronova was growing more confused with every word from Meadhbh, furrowing her brows. What the fuck is a meemaw? Is this girl speaking cat with me? Usually people called her devil when first meeting her. Being compared to an angel was new. This satyr girl must be really dumb. But it didn't feel unpleasant for someone to look at Aronova as if she was an Aasimar instead of a hellspawn. "I'm a tiefling. Did you cast stupidity on yourself?" Her eyes wandered over Meadhbh's back, noticing some words written right above her fluffy butt. The barbarian poked it with her warm hand. "You have words written on your ass. Is that on purpose?"

”Meemaw? What? Five more minutes…” Meadhbh seems to think her grandmother is trying to wake her. Then her eyes flutter open. The sun coming down through the trees and reflecting off the snow casts a halo around Aronova’s head. “Are you a fucking angel dude?” Her eyes widen.

Hearing footsteps in the snow, Aronova immediately reached for her sword, but her stupid cat was covering it with his fat ass. Hells he damned. Fortunately, it turned out to be the fluffy girl from the other day. Aronova had no idea what her name was. She didn't ask, mostly because she didn't care. "Why are you--" And the girl was on the floor. Great. Was that tamale thing an incantation? And why did she pass out from it? Grumbling to herself, Aronova knelt next to Meadhbh, still nearly naked. She poked the satyr against the back of her head. "Urgh, I don't want to carry you all the way back. Wake up, you weirdo."

After wandering around seemingly in a circle for who knows how long. Meadhbh sees the big muscle girl with the weird cat from the other day… “Hey! It’s you!” She calls out as she starts to skip towards her through the snow As she gets closer she realizes that this girl is stripped down to her underwear shining in the snow. Meadhbh is not immune to big beautiful women. And stoned Meadhbh is especially not immune to big beautiful woman. She stops dead in her tracks about three feet away from the girl, looks her up and down once… “Hot tamale…” And then she’s on the ground. Out cold.

Meadhbh is taking a weird ‘short cut’ through the woods on her way to get some lonely waffles by herself. The munchies are giving her a very specific craving today. Shes really in the mood for an All Star Special. This was supposed to be a short cut but it seems she might be a little lost. Oops.

“Sounds good to me” she chirped and began to get up from her spot at the counter. “Sadly though I have to go study and then plan what I’m going to wear for the dance. I can’t wait to see you there!” With that she went to pay her tab and head home. This was going to be fun!

"Cool! So I'll meet you there then?" She asks as she shovels more waffle pieces into her mouth Okay, this could actually be fun...

She was shocked that she wanted to go with her but at least she has someone who was going that she technically knew “Sounds good to me” she smiled and then her face turned different expressions. What was she going to wear?

”I’d go with you…” She shrugs and crosses her arms “You know, like as a friend or whatever.” She blows a strand of hair out of her face

Odoti perked up a bit when asked about the dance. She had been hearing people talk about it but the flyers around campus made it official. “Yeah I’m going, though I don’t really have anyone I’m going with”

”Speaking of which. Are you going to the winter ball?” She pushes the eggs around her plate as she speaks “That’s a like a formal dance type of thing… might be kind of lame. Part of me wants to go but I don’t think any of my friends are going.”

Odoti could definitely relate to that. She wished that the parties she went to were just a little more…friendly. Odoti nodded solemnly. “Yeah” she replied

”The parties at the school are never *normal*! There’s always something stupid happening.”

Centauri takes a long, slightly awkward sip of orange juice as she recalls the karaoke party where she’d caused a fight and screamed out lyrics…. And this was why she was trying to limit her drinking. “Yeah, I guess you’re right. Drunk people can definitely be a catalyst for bad things happening… Speaking from experience.”

Odoti quietly sighs and turns towards the cooks working the grill “Yeah, but here I’m not in the mood to listen to people scream out lyrics or trying to start a fight. It’s this type of humming that makes it so relaxing. Hearing people talk amongst themselves, the smell of coffee, and the nice music, it is a good time for me to take a breath and enjoy a nice meal” Places like these reminded her of the diner her and her family frequented and the homeliness it brought her

”Aw but the drunks sound funny!” Centauri chuckles, but in reality she’d be mortified if any of her party friends saw her in here. She hadn’t told anyone about the sudden change to her finances, nor did she intend to. She needed to keep up her appearances… “It’s quiet in here, sure, but relaxing?” She shrugs before taking a crunchy bite of a bacon strip,

Odoti took the invitation with open arms and sat next to her. “It’s nice to meet you Centauri! I’m Odoti, but you can call me Odi.” She smiles softly to Centauri “Now this is a great time to come because this is when it’s more quiet. It’s after the morning rush and before the drunks show up”```

Relax? Centauri hadn’t considered she should relax at waffle hut… “Pop a squat why don’t you. Maybe we can give me some tips for how to kick back in this place.” If she was gonna be stuck eating here, she might as well make the best of it. “I’m Centauri by the way…”

Odoti felt a whiplash from the laughter that came from the woman. She seemed a little hurt just moments ago. Odoti brushed it off with a smile “Well you aren’t alone. This is a great place to relax. At least in my opinion”

Centauri wasn’t expecting company for her sad poor people waffle dinner. But at least it seems like this girl won’t judge here for being here. She lets out a little sigh before putting on her social face “Haha! Yeah I guess I am!” She smiles and waves her fork in the air like a wand

Dang it, Odoti forgot to order extra hashbrowns with her meal again! Oh well, there’s always next time she supposed. The evening was always a nice time to come when it was more peaceful and the jukebox actually played good music As she made her way to the register to pay she looks over to see a girl stabbing a waffle repeatedly. She looks familiar and realizes she comes here about as often as Odoti does. She approaches the counter and taps the side of the table “Excuse me, I don’t think we’ve met but I’ve seen you a few times. Are you a regular here?”

Well it’s another night of sad waffles for dinner for Centauri. But at least you go a ton of bang for your buck with the meals here! That’s never been something Centauri has had to think about in the past, she would usually just get whatever she wanted and run up her dad’s credit cards. Although she still wasn’t beyond some thieving here and there, but that was for nice things. It was embarrassing to steal food… She sits by herself and frustratedly stabs at the waffles.

Autumn follows shortly behind her as mingled conversations and the smell of coffee filled the air. Autumn sits at an empty booth

"Let's hope so." she smiles slightly, quickly slipping inside and holding the door for him, once she got inside.

Either the place was farther than he first thought or the weather was making it unbearable. Autumn gestured to the diner with a wave of his hand. He carefully removed Ratthew from his jacket sleeve and placed him the side pocket. “Ta-da! If the heating in their doesn’t warm you up, the food surely will” he grinned and opened the door for the woman to step inside

Usually Centauri would weavedash whatever she wanted directly to her room. But things were different now. She had a budget now... Oh great, as if this wasn't embarrassing enough as is, of fucking course Corvid is in here too. Luckily it looks like he's asleep, because she is NOT in the mood right now. She sits on the opposite side of the restaurant and silently orders some waffles.

There’s a figure in a hoodie with a dinosaur sticking plaster on his face slouched in a corner booth. His arms are folded and he is clearly asleep. There’s a half drunk black coffee in front of him that’s gone cold. Living the dream.

Inside the restaurant, Helaena is splitting her attention between a plate of waffles, with a side of sausage on a separate plate, and a table full of textbooks, notes and seemingly endless pens and binders. Her laptop somehow fits on there, too. She has earbuds in, her study playlist running on low volume to block out the worst of the ambient noise. [I'm heading to bed soon, ping to interact <3]

She reacts to the kiss with a squeak, her face scrunching up between Kili’s large hands. As the dragonborn reaches for the door, Rue skips a step ahead, leaning against the glass with her face tilted upward. “This is a way better prize.”

"It looked really good to me," Kili notes, looking ahead sort of dreamily, "but maybe I'm kinda biased. On a scale of one to 'I wanna kiss you,' it was definitely 'I wanna kiss that super cute face of yours." Kili grabs Rue by the cheeks and plants a solid and maybe a bit too wet kiss on the half-elf's cheek. "Too bad I wasn't a judge," she sarcastically laments as they approach the glass doors of the diner.

Her brows lift and then crease. “Yeah?” There’s a moment of true contemplation before she gives her head a little shake. Her eyes fall back to the sidewalk, and she kicks a pebble with her next step. “Nah, I mean… I have fun with it, but it’s not like I’m actually… good. Not like that.”

"I....I want you to dance all the time." Kili closes her eyes a moment and pictures the druid back on that stage. The way she moved was with so much life, so much joy. She made the stage a pedestal and commanded the attention of everyone in the room. "You looked so...happy." Kili shrugs a little. "Maybe you should major in it."

Rue looks down at her feet as they walk. Their pace is unhurried, easy. Neither of them has anywhere to be but here. She looks up at Kili’s question. Her scales are luminous, more bronze than silver in the glow of the streetlamps, piercings glinting on her face. “Back home,” she says simply. “I grew up in, like, a super small town, so everyone did a bit of everything. But I really liked dancing, performing. Still do. Just don’t get the chance as much anymore.”

Kili is doing flips in her brain imagining a private performance of Rue in drag. That same move with the leg and the grab and the- oh gods... She manages to keep her excitment contained for the most part, but her tail is swishing around like a puppy's. "Cool cool cool. Yeah, cool." The two make their way along the campus sidewalks until they enter town, the pavement beneath them showing more cracks and wear. Glowing in the distance is the Waffle Hut, its sign like a beacon for students of all levels of sobriety. "Where'd you learn to dance like that?"

Rue swallows a little nervously, a flush covering the apples of her cheeks as she smiles. “Yeah, well, you know… you’re pretty cool so… you get cool shit.” That was eloquent.

Kili's heart skips a beat and she nearly trips over herself as they walk. "A show? A whole show? Like, just for me?" Perhaps there is some virtue in just speaking her mind without restraint.

The way her expression shifts from water to confused is almost comical, but she laughs. “I hope I’ll get to kiss you again before I get my makeup kit, but… I can put on a show for you… if you want.”

She has a thought and doesn't even bother filtering it before it's halfway out of her mouth. "What if you wear it again next time we're kissing?"

Rue slips her hand into Kili’s, and her heart slips a beat as their fingers slot together. She covers her excitement with a giggle. “I almost left it on,” she confesses. “But… thank you. Gods, it was hard keeping that a secret this whole time.” A pause. “I’m glad you liked it.”

Rue's drag outfit is easily one of Kili's favorite looks, outranking a couple wildshapes. But at the top is still her very own flannel, draped in every which way the druid pleases. Kili can't help but sigh at the sight of her, especially after witnessing such a moving performance. "You were really amazing. I've never seen anything like that before. Like...so talented and...so hot...at the same time." She extends a hand out nervously. "Didn't expect you to rock a moustache so well."

Rue comes out with a bright smile and empty hands. Oti promised to let her back into the dressing room to grab her things another time, but for now she has all she needs. She’s dressed back in her regular clothes, curls a damp pile on her head after a shower to remove the sugar stuck to her body after the performance. A now familiar purple flannel hangs open over her chest. “Hey… yeah, let’s walk.”

Kili waits for Rue outside of the Prismari dressing rooms with her usual layered outfit and hands tucked deep into her hoodie pocket. She's grinning from ear to ear and bouncing ever so slightly. "You wanna walk? Kinda nice out..." @ktwht (Tav: Rue)
